As it is Book Week this week, what better time than now to share some work that we’ve been doing..about a book!
Recently we read the book ‘The Black Book of Colours’ as part of our Grammar unit. This book invites readers to imagine colours through the perspective of a blind person, using a person’s senses to describe each colour, rather than using bright, colourful pictures. All of the illustrations are black and raised on a black background, and the text is written in both English and Braille.
Students were asked to come up with their own description of a colour of their choice, using adjectives in a poem-like verse. It was great to see students really engage with this task to share some beautiful colour descriptions!
